A workshop was carried out for media actors at the Centre for the Training of Journalists (Centro de Formação de Jornalistas – Cefojor) on the right to privacy, in Luanda. The seminar was organised by the Union for Angolan Journalists (União dos Jornalistas Angolanos – UJA) with assistance from ILPI.
The Secretary General of the UJA, Manuel Miguel de Carvalho opened the event. ILPI Director, Njål Høstmælingen, presented the international norms on the right to privacy with a particular focus on the balancing of interests. General Director of the Centre for the Training of Journalists, Joaquim Paulo, spoke about the right to privacy, ethics and the balancing of interests, specially in relation to radio programmes.
The presentations were followed by questions and answers. Present in the audience were representatives from various media outlets as well as students at the Centre. Around 40 people attended the workshop.
