Christian Osorio holds a BA in political science and is currently enrolled in the Masters program of Political Science at the University of Oslo. He has focused his studies on political decision-making processes and international crisis diplomacy. In addition to studying in Oslo, he has completed parts of his degree in Colombia and Russia. His fields of interest are mainly in international security politics and multilateral diplomacy.
Besides his studies, Osorio has worked on different analytical and administrative tasks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence, and recently ended his internship at the Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations in New York.
As part of the Peace and Security team at the delegation he covered the work of the UN Security Council, the UN’s mediation efforts and peace operations as well as various multilateral negotiations in the UN General Assembly. In particular Christian covered the conflicts in the Middle East, North Africa and the Sahel region, among issues including reform of the UN’s peace operations; Security Council Reform; 1325 Women, Peace and Security and Protection of Civilians in terms of physical and sexual violence.
