Joachim Nahem is a leading expert on governance and frequently advises governments, civil society and private sector. He is responsible for ILPI’s framework agreements with Norad and DFID. Nahem is also associated with the ILPI Centre for African Studies. Joachim was previously part of the UNDP Leadership Development and Management Skills programme. He served as Manager for UNDP´s Global Programme on Governance Assessments from 2008 to 2013, Senior Advisor in Tunisia, Deputy Resident Representative in the Republic of Congo and Chief Technical Advisor in Mongolia.
Nahem has published widely on development aid, governance and measurement issues. He is a guest lecturer at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and the University of Oslo. Joachim was in 2013 selected by the Open Government Partnership Secretariat as the independent expert for Norway. Joachim is also a board member for CARE Norway. He holds degrees from the London School of Economics, Institut de Politiques Strasbourg and the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
