Nahem on terror attack in Tunisia

Joachim Nahem, ILPI’s Programme Director for Democracy and Governance, was interviewed by NRK’s radio programme ‘Her og nå’ on Wednesday 18 March 2015.

Nahem commented on the terror attack in Tunisia, saying the attack was an attempt to damage the democratic development in the country. The attack was strategically directed at the recently elected government, whose electoral campaign was based on providing security and economic growth. Attacking the Bardo Museum will have tremendous impact on the important tourism sector. Nahem pointed out that the security situation in Tunisia has always been an area of concern, and that it remains to be seen how the terror attack will affect further democratic gains.
