Angola human rights training

Project Leader: Njål Høstmælingen

Aim of the project

This project is a co-operation between the Angolan Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and the Norwegian Embassy, with ILPI as the Embassy’s selected implementing partner. The aim of the project is to contribute to the development and consolidation of a human rights culture in Angola. This will be achieved through the provision of various human rights trainings for senior ministry staff and representatives of other key stakeholders to the human rights situation in Angola, including civil society, institutions of higher education, the Bar Association, the Judges Association, trade unions, employers organizations etc. Trainings will be hosted both in Norway and Angola. A key ambition of the project is also to develop capacity at university level in Angola to teach human rights at Bachelors and Masters degree courses.

Angola has signed and ratified a number of international human rights conventions (last updated May 2016).
