Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) project

Project Leader: Torbjørn Graff Hugo

Aim of the project

The global efforts to achieve and maintain a world free of weapons of mass destruction are currently more open, dynamic and promising than in many years. Yet, weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and their potential use, intentionally or by accident, remains a serious threat to human suffering and death, environmental damage and economic stagnation.

ILPI’s WMD Project is aimed at shaping and informing discussions on humanitarian disarmament of WMD by way of publishing articles and training material, networking and organizing meetings. ILPI is committed to the goal of a world free of all weapons of mass destruction.

The project is funded by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, ILPI cooperates with a range of global, regional and local stakeholders: international governmental organizations, NGOs, states and academic institutions.
